Drugstore Makeup Loved by Makeup Artists

Who doesn’t love a bargain? I certainly do, especially when it comes to makeup. As a makeup artist I’m always on the hunt for high quality makeup products. At times this means I opt for products at the higher end of the market. BUT just because a product is expensive doesn’t always mean it is going to perform well. There are a whole array of high quality products available from drugstore brands. Here are my top drugstore makeup picks I love so much I added them to my pro kit!

Elf Flawless Concealer

Elf has a whole range of concealers which are raved about by makeup artists, and makeup enthusiasts alike. My personal favourite from their range however is their Flawless Concealer. A natural finish, hydrating formula that sits SO well under the eye. These are my most reached for concealers in my kit for the under eye area. If full coverage is what you are after, you may want to reach for one of their Camo Concealers instead, but the Flawless Concealer is my personal favourite as it just looks SO natural. Being vegan, cruelty free and at only £5 this is a total drugstore makeup gem. Get yours *here.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil

The NYX Micro Brow Pencil has been my absolute ride or die brow product for YEARS. It is pretty much exclusively the only brow product I use on myself and my clients. The super thin nib on this pencil allows for an extra precise application – no sharpie brows here! If you like a more natural finish you can apply a soft layer of the product, or if you are a fan of a bold, defined brow you can apply in heavier strokes for a more dramatic look. This is another vegan, cruelty free product AND comes in at under £10 – bargain! You can purchase yours *here.

Revolution x Soph Lipsticks

For such a budget brand, Revolution has some surprisingly nice products! My most used products from this brand are the Revolution x Soph lipsticks. This collaboration with youtuber Soph Does Nails consists of three different nude toned lipsticks. The formula is creamy, comfortable, lasts surprisingly well and wears really nicely. My personal favourite is Cake which is a pink toned nude, but the trio also consists of Syrup (a lighter brown toned nude) and Fudge (a deeper brown nude). Fudge is my recommendation for those with medium – deep skin tones, or it can be used as a more dramatic colour on light skin. These lipsticks aren’t vegan, but they are cruelty free and only £4 each! You can get yours *here.

Dr Paw Paw Original Balm

When it comes to lip balm, I wouldn’t use anything other than the Dr Paw Paw Balm. Containing paw paw fruit, aloe vera and olive oil, this product is everything you need to keep your lips soft and hydrated. A multipurpose product, this can be used on other areas of your skin and hair, but personally I use it on lips the most. If I have ever done your makeup, chances are you have had this product on your lips! The even better news is that this product is vegan, cruelty free, has 100% recyclable packaging AND it starts at only £3.95 for a tube. What more could you ask for? Available to buy *here.

Milani Baked Blush

If you are a fan of dewy, glowing skin you will absolutely LOVE these blushers! I honestly can’t get enough of them (I probably will own them all eventually). These products give the most beautiful wash of colour, which is easily build-able and has such a lovely, sheeny finish. My favourite shade is Luminoso (a cult favourite), which is a gorgeous peach shade I use on SO many of my brides. These blushers are cruelty free and come in at just over £10 each, so on the higher side for drugstore makeup but 100% worth it I promise! Most of the shades are vegan, however there are four that aren’t so if that is something that concerns you make sure to check the shades before you buy! You can get yours *here.

There are SO many more products I could list here, but these five are my absolute ride or dies! Let me know about your favourite drugstore makeup products in the comments.
